The European Union External Action Service (EEAS) Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability (CPCC) Director, Civilian Operations Commander Mr. Kenneth Deane, visited EUCAP Somalia on December 13th to personally express his gratitude to the Mission’s personnel for their contribution to developing Somali maritime security in 2017.
He outlined EU member states’ ongoing discussions on the Mission and sought views from the field to inform his thinking on the next steps.
The Mission’s personnel briefed Mr. Deane on the main work of the field offices in Mogadishu, Hargeisa and Garowe and in the back office in Nairobi. There were also wide-ranging discussions the EU Integrated Approach in Somalia and the Mission’s role in that.
